Wayne Cooper

Wayne Cooper established his consultancy, Wayne Cooper Consulting, following a life as a project and change manager.  In 2005 Wayne was contracted by the Australian Health Insurance Association (AHIA) to develop a compliance process and program to introduce the voluntary Private Health Insurance Code of Conduct to the industry.  Since then the Code has been adopted by nearly every health fund in Australia and WCC continues to monitor and review the Code.  Success has been gauged by the independent view of the Private Health Insurance Ombudsman who has attributed the fall in complaints about health funds to the introduction of the Code of Conduct.  In 2009 WCC was commissioned by the Private Health Insurance Intermediaries Association (PHIIA) to assist them in developing a complementary compliance code for Intermediaries (brokers and agents) involved in the private health insurance industry.  The Intermediaries Code of Conduct was approved by PHIIA in 2010.
